In a Tough Job Market, Teens Are Sufering Most

Long: Teen's jobs, after the latest recession have been severly affected. Different sectors where they use to work for are being almost innaccesible for them. Some experts forsee a negative effect on America's future economy. Others state that teen's workforce is not a big concern. However, optimistics see this phenomenon positively, because teens are staying at school.

Reaction: Somehow, everyone has been affected by the recent economic recession. Teens are having hard time to find a job and this is causing economic difficulties within families. However, today's workforce is demanding people more skilled and experienced in all fields. From this perspective is more important that young people have more and better education before getting mediocre jobs.

Hello, my name is Amanda, I am a PCCC ESL student, and proud to live in this wonderful land. If somebody who doesn't know anything about this culture asked me what is the most important value of American Culture, I would not hesitate to answer "Freedom". By freedom, Americans mean "the desire and the right of all individuals to control their own destiny without outside interference," according to American Ways, our textbook.

Freedom is one of the most shocking values for almost all immigrants, especially for those whose native countries lack the right of freedom. Here in America nobody forces you to do things that you don't want to. You can decide by yourself how to live your life, and you can become the person that you want to be. That is why I love this land, and it's the main reason why I want to learn English.
